WELCOME TO SACRED HEART SCHOOL!
I want to extend a special welcome to our new friends and a warm welcome to our returning friends! If you are not yet part of the Sacred Heart School Family, I invite you to visit our classrooms and inquire about the special, “Going Above and Beyond” program offered here at Sacred Heart School.
My focus as 2nd Grade Teacher is to provide, “next best step” for each student and to grow as much as possible in all subject areas. I will base all lessons on the Indiana Academic Standards and ultimately conclude with our “SWBAT” – Students Will Be Able To goals. STREAM – Science, Technology, Religion, the Arts, and Math units will actively be added to our curriculum. Enrichment, reinforcement, and remediated will be supported with our IXL computer program. IXL standards will be incorporated in both Math and Language Arts.
As we deal with the challenges in education due to COVID-19, immediately I will be working in class to be success digitally at home, if necessary. We will be using Google Classroom, Moby Max, IXL, Xtramath, Spelling City, Readworks, and whatever is essential for your child’s growth and success.
Religion will take special focus during this 2nd grade year as we prepare for the Sacrements of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist! The students are so excited in their preparation for these two wonderful sacraments.
Throughout all our time together this year, we mix our hard work with happy times of friendship and fun ways of learning! I am so glad each and every one of you is here at Sacred Heart School! Teaching at SHS is a joy and an honor.
Let the fun and work begin!
Educationally yours in Christ,
It is my pleasure to begin my eleventh year at Sacred Heart School.
I am in my 41st year in education. Before coming to Sacred Heart School, for 10 years I was a Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade teacher for the Marion Community Public Schools. In 2005 I was honored as, “The Teacher of the Year” for the Marion Community Schools. I have also been honored to receive the, “Light of Learning Award” twice here at Sacred Heart. My first 20 years in education were spent in the Michigan City Catholic Schools where I taught grades Kindergarten through 4th grade.
I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 36 years. We have 2 grown children: Michele who works in the Marketing Division for Eli Lily. Michele lives with her husband, Paul, in Indianapolis. They have two charming little boys named Henry (3 1/2) and George (9 months). Our son, Jimmy is Owner of Hoosier Powder Coating in Nappanee. He is married to his wife, Stephanie. They have a delightful little girl, Elizabeth (3 1/2), who was born on Christmas Day! They have second child, James (1 1/2). They own a home here in Warsaw. We are LOVING being the grandparents of four wonderful children!
Mr. Faroh and I have a 7 year old Yorkshire terrier. “Dino” is a feisty eight pounder with the mindset of a 50 pounder! We are enjoying watching him learn to behave and become part of the family. I think he gets even more excited when the grands visit than we do!
It is truly my honor and pleasure to, again, be part of the Sacred Heart School staff. I enjoy working with the children and families of this wonderful school!
