Greetings from the SHS Music Room!

My name is Jocelyn Dupuis and I am thrilled to be starting my second year as the Music Teacher at Sacred Heart School! Teaching at SHS and sharing my love of Music in a faith-based environment is an absolute blessing and joy, and I have many exciting ideas for the upcoming school year. I am the proud mother of two amazing daughters, Mia (Age 7) and Zoe (Age 3) and have been happily married to my wonderful husband, Sean, for 13 years. We currently live in Mishawaka and are parishioners at St. Pius X in Granger. In my spare time my family and I love going on nature walks with our mini goldendoodle, Rudy, spending time at the lake, having family sing-alongs, and going on bike rides (just to name a few activities). I am very grateful to be a Bethel Graduate where I received a Bachelor of Science degree and I have also completed the Graduate Transition to Teaching Program at Taylor University. Prior to teaching at SHS, I had the honor of being the Music Teacher and Band Director at St. Vincent de Paul School in Elkhart. Music has always and continues to be a huge part of my life. Whether it’s serving as a Cantor at Mass, playing the flute, or strumming the ukulele, music has always brought a great deal of joy to my life and I can’t wait to spend another year sharing that joy with my students at SHS. This school year we will emphasize the many creative ways to make music in these unique circumstances we find ourselves in. We’ll be playing the recorder, celebrating the music of many different cultures, playing rhythm games, learning how to keep track of a song in our head, bucket drumming, learning about different composers, and much much more. It is my mission to make sure that Music Class will always be a fun and creative part of your child’s day. I’m honored to be a part of the SHS Family. If you ever need to contact me please don’t hesitate to do so. Let’s have a great year and make some beautiful music!!!
