Greetings from the SHS Music Room!

My name is Jocelyn Dupuis, and I am the proud Music teacher at Sacred Heart School.  Teaching and sharing my love of Music in a faith-based environment is an absolute blessing and joy, and I have many exciting ideas and lessons for my third year here at SHS.  I am the proud mother of two amazing daughters, Mia (Age 8) and Zoe (Age 4) and have been happily married to my wonderful husband, Sean, for 14 years.  We currently live in Osceola and are parishioners at St. Pius X in Granger.  In our spare time, my family and I love going on nature walks with our Mini Goldendoodle, Rudy, spending time at the lake, going on bike rides, having family sing-alongs and dance parties (just to name a few).  I am very grateful to be a Bethel graduate where I received a Bachelor of Science degree and I have also completed the Graduate Transition to Teaching Program at Taylor University.  Prior to teaching at SHS, I had the honor of being the Music Teacher and Band Director at St. Vincent de Paul School in Elkhart, IN.  Music has always and continues to be a huge part of my life.  Whether it’s serving as a Cantor at Mass, playing the flute, or listening intently to a composition, music has always brought a great deal of joy to my life and I can’t wait to spend another year sharing that joy with my students.  This school year, we will strengthen music skills that were previously learned, we will grow by learning and cultivating new musical concepts, and will always make creativity and musical exploration a focal point. We will be consistently learning new ways to praise God through music, playing the recorder, celebrating music from many different cultures, playing rhythm games, composing, learning folk dances around the world, bucket drumming, learning about different composers and musicians and I am very excited to announce this year (drum roll please…..) 6th grade will be learning how to play the ukulele, Yay!  It is my mission to make sure Music class will always be a fun, enriching and creative part of your child’s day.  It is a true honor to be a part of the SHS Family.  If you ever need to contact me please don’t hesitate to do so.  Looking forward to another great school year filled with music with my awesome students!
