Andrea Komorowski

Welcome to Sacred Heart School!

I am blessed to be starting my fourth year as part of the Sacred Heart School Family.  Being a product of Sacred Heart School myself, I am glad to be working here helping students achieve their potential.

My position is that of Academic Resource Specialist and Testing Coordinator.  As the Academic Resource Specialist, I focus on supporting the Reading, Language Arts, and Mathematics programs. I oversee Individual Service Plans and work in conjunction with the Warsaw Schools for action plans.  I get to work with a great team consisting of Lili Polk- English Language Learners, Patti Faroh- primary reading specialist, and Melissa Watson- resource teacher assistant.

As Testing Coordinator, I am in charge of all of the testing related to the state and accreditation:  ILEARN, IREAD, WIDA, and NWEA.  I also squeeze in coaching Sacred Heart’s VEX Robotics Team along with Mrs. Kelsheimer.

I have a B.S. from Ball State University in Elementary Education and Special Education and an M.S. from Walden University in Middle Level Education.  I taught for 20 years (five in Griffith, IN and fifteen at Wawasee Middle School in Syracuse, IN) before staying home and caring for my daughter for five years.

My husband is John, and we have one daughter, Eleanor, who is attending fourth grade here at SHS.    I am an active member of Sacred Heart Parish and currently am part of the adult choir, vocation committee, and Sacred Heart Women of Grace.  In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, and spending time with my family.
